Join through a project or a contribution

The standard membership route is for early-career researchers who want to lead a methodological project. A separate pathway is available for researchers ready to contribute to developing work.

Eligibility

Career stage, not a universal time limit

Applicants state their current career stage and confirm that they regard themselves as early-career researchers.

The Consortium does not impose one fixed number of years that applies across every discipline, institution, country, career break, or practice setting. Relevant stages may include:

Doctoral researchers
Recently completed doctoral graduates
Postdoctoral researchers
Research fellows
Early-career lecturers
Early-career practitioner-researchers

Established senior academics are not the intended audience for the standard application pathway. Senior researchers may occasionally be invited separately as mentors or advisers.

Two pathways

Lead or contribute

Both routes ask about the methodological problem that interests you, how you would contribute during the next six months, and the time you can realistically commit each month.

Primary pathway

Lead a methodological project

Submit a project title, methodological area, and an abstract of at least 250 words. Explain the problem, why it matters, the proposed approach, and the contribution the work could make.

What the Consortium may help with

Refining the research question and design
Identifying relevant methodological expertise
Recruiting interested collaborators
Developing the protocol
Supporting analysis, interpretation, and dissemination

The Consortium cannot promise funding, ethics approval, data access, publication, authorship, or successful completion.

Propose a project

Contributor pathway

Contribute to developing projects

Describe your methodological interests, relevant skills or experience, and realistic availability. This route is suitable when you are interested in the Consortium but are not yet ready to lead a project.

Possible contributions

Study design and protocol development
Specialist assessment or prescription methods
Quantitative or qualitative analysis
Interpretation and scientific writing
Multi-centre coordination or dissemination

Interests and skills may be matched with current or developing projects when there is a suitable fit and capacity.

Before you apply

What acceptance means

Applications are considered according to methodological fit, current project capacity, and the applicant’s ability to participate constructively. Submitting an application does not create membership automatically.

If an application is accepted, access to the private Slack workspace may be sent manually. No invitation link is available on the public website.

Membership does not confer authorship. Authorship on each output is based on meaningful contributions to that particular work.
